Bangkok Draft is Thailand's first ever alleycat race. Alleycat races were originally planned by bicycle messengers to find out who was the fastest in the city. The races are open to all riders on all types of bikes. We race on open streets with all the other traffic in the city. Bangkok is known around the world as a crazy place to drive. Come test yourself by riding in some of the toughest traffic in the world. We hope that riders will come from many different countries to race with us. For the riders who have not been to Bangkok before, we have created a map with the checkpoints labled on it so you will have a good idea of how to get around the city before the race starts.

For the winners, we have gathered prizes from all over the world. We have sponsors from Tokyo, Hong Kong, Korea, Thailand and U.S., just to name a few. There will be prizes for the overall winners, the sprint winner and for skids, trackstands, and tricks.

Everyone is invited to Bangkok on 17 May to help BKK Fixed celebrate the growing bike scene in Thailand. If you can ride Bangkok, you can ride anywhere (except maybe Vietnam. Traffic is really crazy over there).

Starting from Siam Square, we rode through Chinatown, Sapan Put, Flower Market, Kao Sarn Rd. We stopped right there to have a little fresh juice to drink , it was pretty nice. After then we went to Democracy Monument to have a little ride around it.. and finally our last stop was King Rama5 Monument.. we had fun skidding there before we went back home.. it was good to see you here both of you Montonn, and Johni !!!! ride safe

Sheldon Brown, Web's Cycling Guru, Dies

If you'r into bicycle, or fixed gear, you should have googled and found out his website to be your first building your first fixed gear "Sheldon Brown" , a beloved iconoclast bicycle tech guru, died Sunday from a heart attack. He was 63.

Brown championed fixed gear bikes for years before they became essential fashion items for hip kids in New York and San Francisco and had a nearly encyclopedic knowledge of obscure bike parts, odd tire sizes and non-standard gear ratios. He was known for his generosity in helping DIY bike builders with their projects, for his love of weird old bikes, and his passion for cycling.

Brown had been suffering from multiple sclerosis since 2005, which kept him from riding any of his dozens of two-wheeled bikes since September 2006. Brown is survived by his wife and two adult children.

Brown worked as the technical guru and Webmaster for Harris Cyclery in West Newton, Massachusetts. In columns for cycling magazines and in essays on his blog, Brown championed bike technology that he loved - internal hubs, fixed gear bikes (including a fixie tandem) and homebuilt tandems. He gently ridiculed the current marketing rages of the cycling world (carbon fiber, titanium, racing bikes for everyone, etc.) every April 1 with fake new product announcements such as a titanium credit card with holes drilled in it to reduce weight.

Brown's decidedly non-fancy website was a vital resource for cyclists, rich with hints on how to break in a Brooks leather saddle, technical explanations of the workings of 60 year-old internal hubs, and instructions on how to build a tandem from two old steel bike frames. Brown even lauded Shimano's much maligned Biopace chain rings (a non-round chain ring once made by Shimano).

Although there are few more world premieres left, please describe any personal changes or insights you have experienced after the San Francisco,Los Angeles, New York, and Japan premieres?
The overall impression is how no matter what city we rolled into, there was a huge sense of community there tied to bikes, and people sharing this connection. Our friend in chicago put it this way. He saw what we were doing over the years, and how that differed from the velo circuit of friends. He compared it to how he used to go skate this ditch as a kid, and there would always be a few other kids there. That was the same thing. Kids finding each other through an outlet they shared respect for. Then he saw Chicago's tricks and drinks night getting more popular, and that tied it together.
People coming together for a common interest.

So recently came across the supposed new big thing (that I had never heard of) called the Freitag Bag. I guess it is more popular in Europe but keep your eyes open because we may be seeing a lot more of them soon. It all started with two bike-riding designers who lived next to a truck route in Zurich. So the idea was to create these messenger bags from truck tarpaulins, bicycle innertubes, car seat belts and used airbags. That sounds pretty cool to me… all these things are totally waterproof and totally unique! Some even still have a little dirt on them, a little something that didn’t come of in the high powered wash they receive.

You can also choose or design your own bag too. It's really good idea.

last friday Jan 11, 08. We had our 2nd time meeting in front of Hard Rock cafe (Siam Square) Bangkok. many news faces who missed the last meeting shows up such as P'Neng, P'King, but few people that didnt show up too. This time seemed to be very interesting because of many girls spotted on us. especially, on P'j. We were there for some tricks and later we went out of the space to ride along the road. It was totally fun. see u guys in next meeting.
